Hi I am strongly considering the Newhouse School and am wondering if I should do an interview with admissions to show my interest in the school.... Would that be a smart thing to do?

“Demonstrated interest” is one of the things they track we were told. They go around the country doing interviews to make it easier.

My S got into Newhouse ED and had an off campus interview with an admissions officer.
The interview did not go well because my son was thrown off by lots of inappropriate questions related to a disability.

He got in anyway, so I’m not sure how much weight they give them.

Hey Bats,

Interviews are one of those things that’s totally up to you. It’s not mandated, but it can be a useful tool for you to be able to chat directly with an admission official and color in the details that may be left out of your application, or give you a chance to get a little more information about Syracuse. If you do not conduct an interview, you’re not penalized in any way, so it’s really a benefit to you, should you decide to participate in one.
