I remember reading somewhere that from the early decision applicants, about 1/3 is accepted, 1/3 will be deferred and 1/3 will be denied…is this still true???

…and if so, then how much more of a change do you get when you’re the early applicant put into regular decision pile as a deferred student???

I didnt see anyone else on this board talk about this, which suprised me since it’s pretty important…or seems to be

1/3, 1/3, 1/3 seems about right for ED applicants.

About 10-15% of deffered ED applicants get accepted during RD. Depends on the year. It has been discussed in quite a few threads but not recently.

ur lookin at a deferred kid from last year. Do not have ur hopes of getting if your deferred. However, to the bright side of things, if ur deferred, u know that ur application is definetely solid. Since you made it passed the first round b/c Penn does reject about 1/3 of the students, you know ur competitive for other schools. I got int 6-7 schools in the top 25.

but what sort of people do they mostly deffer? the minorities? the kids from good geographic locational states? the kids who have disabilities? legacies? kids who they feel sorry for rejecting? ....etc...?
