Any idea when admission letters come

If you applied by Oct. 15, you should hear back the week of Dec. 16 (Early Answer week). If you applied after this date up til Dec. 1, you should hear back the week of March 10.

Out DS applied prior to Oct. 15, he also applied to the honors college. I was talking to a guy how had a kid at USC and he said that if you apply for honors you will be accepted to the general admissions no matter what. Took it with a respectable grain of salt. DS then rec. a letter from his area rep. and all sounded good; however, there was no direct “your in” comment.

Drum roll and good luck to all!!!

^ 3unitsIlove - Yep, counting down the days! My son is a freshman there now- and he did not get the invite to the honors college (he had good stats but not ‘great’ stats), although he has straight A’s now so I’m proud of him!

Anyway, my kids are only a year apart in age and my daughter did get the invite to the honors college and applied for it. I feel pretty certain she’ll get accepted into the university (as you said, if they already meet for honors college ), plus my son got accepted with a bit lower stats than daughter, but I’m still keeping fingers crossed for the honors college as well. She’s already been accepted to “the other school” in South Carolina (won’t mention that here!) with a nice scholarship, but I personally feel she’d be happier at USC- of course, I’m not biased with her brother going to USC- and he keeps trying to influence her decision as well. Good luck.

The suspense is killing me as well and it’s my daughter who applied, not me!! This is her first choice school so we are hoping for good news before Christmas. We’re hoping for Capstone but believe she’ll have a great experience there no matter what–we’ve visited several times and it feels like home. Hoping that she can do the Preston Residential College if Capstone doesn’t work out. She has a 3.9 GPA,1290 SAT Reading and Writing, 4 college courses and lots of extra-curriculars so I think she’s a good candidate for admission but borderline for Capstone (which we won’t know about until March apparently). We shall see…and I’m not very good at waiting! Honestly, my daughter is better about this than I am :)

USC is our DS No.1 school under his “B” plan. His No,1 over all is the Naval Academy, everything is 100% so far for that, he even got the Senators nomination. That said it is highly competitive. His “B” plan is the NROTC scholarship again USC being No.1. He goes into a “C” plan if all else fails mode and has 3 colleges planed off of that. In the end if just cost me a lot of money in ACT and application fees.

Love the thought of him going to USC. In the end I wish all of you the best for your children. It’s been a long 15 year of school (2 pre-school, 1 kinda, and 12 regular) and it is sad to think they are off to college. One left in the nest for us.

Cheers to all!!
