I question the sagacity and soberness of the admissions committees and those respective institutions.

There should a law: RWI...
... Reviewing While Intoxicated

It's slim-pickings at all of them. One cannot walk away too embittered after looking at the acceptance rates.

wesleyan is an amazing school, and was a wonderful place to spend two years. However, it was terrible with disabled accessibility (I have very mild cerebral palsy), and after falling a lot this past fall (there are stairs without bannisters everywhere that I was told would have to be reviewed by the historical preservation board before bannisters could be put in) I ended up fracturing my hip and having to take incompletes on my fall courses. Knowing that I would spend 10 weeks in a wheelchair, I called the school with some things/accomodations that I would need and was advised to take a semester off (by the dean). There is only one dorm on campus that has an elevator (only for freshman) and I couldn't access many of the departmental buildings and was unable to leave my dorm after 7 at night because public safety stopped giving rides at 7, and the list goes on--basically I was one of two disabled students and they were able to drag their heels on any drastic improvements.

However, had Wes been better at this or had I not been disabled, I definitely would have stayed--I had amazing profs that I will msis terribly and will definitely keep in touch with.

and thanks dpinmiami--it's such a relief to finally know!

hnbui, thanks. ive been gradually trying to wean myself off this site. the application process was so long i almost dont remember what my hobbies were! and yeah im going to be at yale in the fall :)

(Am a college freshman, so yes, I get to go through this all over again next year at this time.)

hnbui - why did you think you were going to get rejected at all those schools...and why were you right?

It seems strange that you got rejected at Tufts and accepted at Cornell and Chicago.
