My daughter is going to attend a UNC Admitted Student Dinner in our area and signed me up also (mom). Past parents, is this something that a parent usually attends with the student or will it mostly be students? While I would really like to go, especially if there are going to be other parents there, I do not want to if it is mostly students. She is capable of handling everything on her own and would prefer to go solo if everyone else is, I’m sure. I know…silly question
it was a mix of parents and students at the one we attended.
My wife and I went to admitted students day with our daughter but pretty much never saw her. My daughter had arranged to meet with some potential suite mates on admitted students day and they went off on their own. For the dinner/lunch at the dining hall it was the same thing. We let our daughter sit with her new friends and we sat separately nearby. It gave us great pleasure to watch our daughter having a good time with other newly admitted students.
On that same note, we did not attend the new student orientation days. We are local (Raleigh) and were very familiar with the UNC campus and it’s programs so just my daughter attended.
At my son’s accepted students dinner, they seated the kids together and then the parents together. There were MANY parents in attendance.
I just wanted to clarify, I am asking about a UNC Admitted Student Dinner invitation in a city local to the student (not something on campus). Sorry if I did not ask the question clearly
There were many parents in attendance at the admitted students dinner held in the city near our home.
