Admitted Students Day or Open House?

I’ve already been accepted at Fordham, but I’m not sure if I should attend the admitted students day on the 8th or the open house on either the 11th or 12th. Does anyone know which one is better?

They have changed the format somewhat since 07 when we did it. In those days the Admitted Students Orientation was a weekend mid April and was basically all day Sunday starting early am. You got tours, met students, faculty, deans, administrators and Fr. President. And met fellow admitted students and families. A rousing speech by Fr. McShane and a reception following in McGinley where you had one on one with Fr. McShane. He can close the sale very very well.

I recommend doing that format. But regardless to visit and see students, faculty and so forth. You have until May 1 to decide.

I would try to come on accepted student day. I believe the Open House is more for prospective applicants.

I have never been to either, but Fordham’s website says “if you can only come once, come to spring preview, our open house for admitted students”. So, I believe this particular open house is not for prospective applicants, but geared to admitted students. Fordham itself seems to think it’s the best opportunity to visit. If you go to their website, they give descriptions of both dates, so that might give you a better idea. My D and I are going to spring preview. She is an admitted student for 2015, and we have not visited before.

@collegemom777‌ Thank you. I stand corrected. Enjoy your visit to Fordham.

The Spring Preview is the one with Father McShane. That is supposed to be awesome. We didn’t go to that but we attended the Admitted Student Day which was really nice. Lots of opportunities to see the campus more (I remembered they added a little more to the tour than in previous tours) and they served us lunch at the Lombardi Field House. My daughter had pretty much made up her mind the weekend before after visiting Manhattan College so it was a no-brainer for us. It was a beautiful day for us, sunny and warm. But I see you are going to the Spring Preview. We couldn’t because of personal scheduling conflicts, so that’s why we opted for the Admitted Students Day. You are going to really like it.
