Admitted Students tour?

Is the admitted students tour informative? What will I learn? I found the explanation online to be not too descriptive

If you've already been on a tour of campus, I wouldn't bother. If you are an Honors student and haven't been on an "Honors Tour", you might look into that, but I'm sure most of what you need to know can be found online. If you are trying to decide between a school or two, and it isn't too difficult for you to travel to OSU, you might want to do it anyway for the piece of mind.

kstar- thanks for all info in your OSU posts. Can you comment on the honors dorms or recommend one over another?

Since this is just my first year, it is hard for me to speak for all freshmen, but I've found that the honors dorms are quite nice. Although there are big buildings (Taylor Tower has about 600 residents), you make your close-knit group of friends from people on your floor. There is some money given for floor programs, but a lot more to hall-wide programs. Also, there are five rooms of freshmen on my floor, with upperclassmen interspersed throughout the floor. I've found this to be especially nice because the upperclassmen usually know the ropes for the building (not to mention the best places to go on campus) and just for general advice. The layout of the room is nice (air conditioning, bathroom, bedroom and study room), but still feels a bit tight. The rooms are therefore more spread out than the doubles on South Campus. The South Campus dorms may be a little bit more sociable just because of the closeness of the rooms and the community baths. The West Campus towers are fairly spacious per person, but seem kind of far away. None of the rooms in the suite are quads, so each student gets two desks, which is really nice. The housing webpage is pretty accurate with the room layouts and for some rooms has a "video tour". (housing.osu.edu). There aren't a lot of campus options for food on North Campus, so we trek to South Campus frequently (and by trek, I mean take a campus bus because we can be lazy). Everyone I know seems to think their dorm is the best, but I really think it's a combination of factors- who your roommates are, your RA, closeness to classes, etc that make your dorm "experience" what it is. Next year I'll be living in Worthington Building, an upperclassmen honors housing residence hall (each suite has a full kitchen plus 1 bathroom per 2 people)!
