Admitted Students Weekend

Haha, my mom thinks I will be killed at Chicago… both physically (by being mugged) and academically (she has bad memories of the quarter system). She’s still coming with me though. :)

You should attend admitted students weekend. I loved it and had the time of my life. Met a friend, whom I still see often.

It will make you want to come to UChicago. In fact, it will just make you want to be at college in general.

I also decided to come to UChicago over Penn, because I had a much better time at the admitted students weekend at UChicago when I attended.

Bring your parents if they want to come, there’s lots for them to do, see, and learn as well. :-)

Wait…so what exactly happens during admitted students weekend?

An orgy of good fun, wholesome activities.

There’s a tentative schedule in your chicago account. The first day is a bunch of presentations from the different departments, and the houses sell t-shirts, and there’s a bunch of different tours of campus with different themes. There’s also your overnight visit and possible parties (according to a couple south campus residents).

It’s fun!

So. Who’s going on the 22-23rd weekend?

Me! Me! Me! Me! Me!

@Elanorci: haha! Yeah I can see that. We could also do a horrendous combination of orange and maroon together, that way nobody would be accidentally wearing it.

@squidoop: I’m in the same boat, in both respects! I’m hoping that going to the admitted student program will convince her it’s not that bad :)

and, presuming nothing huge happens to change my plans, I’ll be going to the 22nd-23rd one too!

The weekend–for me–is exclusively for vacation purposes, since I shan’t be attending the school come fall. But it’ll be nice to meet you all anyway. :)

Anyone know what happens formally on the Fri morning? I’m looking at flights that would leave Midway at 11 or 2, the earlier one being cheaper. Is it just get up, say bye to your host, and then leave? Or is there much worth sticking around for the next morning?
