Advice about Math 240 and Minor

Basically came in with AP credit for Math 104. I took Math 114 in the fall of freshman year. Didn't do math in the spring of freshman year. Now I'm a first semesters sophomore, who wants to get a math minor. But due to weird, unfortunate scenario (wharton core and foreign language), I can't take Math 240 anytime during the the 2008-2009 year. Luckily Stat 430-431 count towards the minor.

I plan to take Math 240 as a junior in Fall '09 to resume my progress towards a minor. So it will have been almost 2 years since I'd taken Math 114.

Do you believe the gap between Math 114 and 214 will cause major problems for me? (forgetting material from 114 useful in 214, along those lines).

It just makes a lot of sense for me to get this minor, because I like math and I only need 2 courses (Math 240 and one 300-level Math course) outside of Wharton.

You'll be fine. It will be a little tougher than if you had done it freshman year, but you'll survive

thanks for the input. Also I'm just curious how difficult are internal Math 240 placement exams? It stated on the website that they are multiple choice, which makes them sound less intimidating. Does anyone know how many people are able to get credit for 240 through the internal exam?

I'm thinking of giving it a shot in the beginning of Spring '09 just to see how it is, then probably do some self-study over the summer and take it more seriously in Fall '09. In the case I don't pass, I'll just take the course that semester, which I guess is not the end of the world.
