Hello!
I would appreciate some advice on my situation.
I am a freshman at Texas A&M and I began my year in January unlike most students. My major was business management, however, my GPA fell below the 2.0 scale and for that reason I was dropped from Mays Business School. I feel crushed and lost. I haven’t told my parents yet. The two other major options I am considering at A&M are Human Resource Development and Technology Management in the College of Education. But I’m not sure if it’s worth it to go to A&M to pursuit those majors. My other option is to apply for another University, which makes me sad because I love A&M and everyone I know was so proud of me for being admitted there. It was my “reach” and dream college after all.
No need to transfer, if you like A&M. Either of those other majors would get you working in business. Just get career related work experience while you study. For example, if HR interests you, do the HR Dev major, become an RA on campus, work the orientations, volunteer for admissions, and do an HR internship, and you’ll be well prepared to get a job in HR when you graduate.
That said, it is extremely important that you figure out what caused your GPA to be so low. You have to put a realistic plan in place to improve it, as of next term. So take this summer to figure that out, and find out what resources A&M has available to help you.
You need to change how you study: Here are ideas:
