Advice for Chemistry CLEP Test

Tomorrow I am taking the Chemistry CLEP test! I took AP chemistry last year in high school, and in two weeks I've been studying prep books and my notes from last year. I was wondering what the CLEP exam was like in comparison to the AP test? Also, any last minute advice on things I should look over? What to expect? Thank you so much!!!

How was the Chemistry CLEP test? I am studying for AP Chemistry test, but wanting to find out about Chemistry CLEP. Can you tell me if you took both tests? Thanks.

Tiberius, I hope you realize that it is not a problem to take both AP and CLEP exams for the same subject, but your college will not award you credit for both if you pass both. If you are in the AP Chemistry class right now you have quite a decision ahead of you. I would suggest taking the AP exam (in May) and wait for your results (July) before deciding to take the CLEP exam. CLEP exams are offered year-round so as long as you retain the subject matter, you can take them any time as long as this meets with your college/university’s CLEP policy.

Check out the CLEP website (there is a link from the College Board website) for the exam description of the CLEP Chemistry exam so you have an idea what will be covered on the exam.

Thanks, I am taking AP Chemistry online and am a homeschooler. Currently, the only schools near me do not offer the AP Chemistry test. My college will, however, let me to CLEP and if I have a high enough score give me the same credit hours for a high AP Chemistry score. I wanted to have a better understanding for the differences between the tests if there was someone who took both as you suggested.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
