Advice for enjoying Wash U visit?

Hey there -- I'm going to Wash U tomorrow to judge an a cappella competition in the Edison Theater. I'm staying at the conference center on campus, and I'll be around early Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon.

Where should I eat on campus, and what should I see on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning? Since I'm an admissions consultant, I like to eat in student unions and dining halls (where allowed) to get a better feel for campus life. Any recommendations/suggestions about which to choose?

I'd love to get a campus tour while I'm there, but I get in too late on Saturday, so that's out. If the rain dries up Sunday, I figure I'll take a walk around the zoo/park instead.

If any CCers come to the competition Saturday night, come say hi to me! It should be a fabulous show. The winner goes to the finals in Lincoln Center.

Thanks in advance!

I would check out the Dining Commons in the Danforth University Center, which is adjacent to Edison. Additionally, if you want a more student-centered, residential dining experience, you might want to check out Bear’s Den on the South 40.

I would check out the South 40 (although note that the time food places are open on the weekend is very different to during the week – visit diningservices.wustl.edu for a schedule

Stroll around the campus. Forrest Park zoo/etc. is nice as you mentioned (and free!)

There’s also food available in the Knight Center (where I’m guessing you’re staying).

Not a great day to visit today.

Yeah, three inches of snow kind of ruins the experience.

<3 Snow ;)

Come to the South40 and dine at Ursa’s Cafe!! Sooo yummy! It’s only open at night 6pm-1am or so!
