Advice for Visiting Students?

I've been accepted!! I'm going to visit the campus and spend some time in Easton, but I know very little about the town. What sights/restaurants/shops/etc do current students recommend me seeing during my visit?

Thanks in advance!

Texas07,

I am so sorry that I did not respond sooner. This thread seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle!

Off the top of my head, here are some stores/restaurants/attractions you might consider visiting during your time in Easton:

The Crayola Factory/Store: located on Centre Square in downtown Easton, these two attractions are both "must-sees". Did you know that Crayola operates out of Easton, PA?

The Cosmic Cup: this is a privately-owned and fairly hip coffeehouse just off the east side of campus on College Hill. It is located at 520 March Street.

Pizza D'Oro: this is one of three competing Italian restaurants just seconds away from the Cosmic Cup. They are all along Cattell Street off the east side of campus. I recommend Pizza D'Oro over Morici's and Juliana's because it is slightly more affordable and because they make the best Sicilian pizza.

The Easton Museum of Pez Dispensers: this museum is located on 12-19 Bank Street in downtown Easton. They have over 1,500 Pez dispensers, and every flavor of Pez you could possibly imagine!

The Purple Cow Creamery: if you visit when it's warm outside, you might consider grabbing some ice cream. It's located on 15 S. Bank Street downtown.

Julie's Emporium Antiques on the Square: it's located just across from the Crayola Factory in Centre Square. This is the mother of all antique shops in Easton, and that's saying a lot!

Pearly Baker's Ale House: a great place to grab a bite to eat along Centre Square. They offer lunch and dinner in an upscale, sophisticated atmosphere.

Sogo: a new Japanese restaurant downtown located at 237 Northampton Street. I hear good things!

You can learn more about most of these places by visiting the Lehigh Valley's visitors website at: http://www.lehighvalleypa.org/default.aspx?pageid=1.

Again, I'm sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I hope this isn't too late!
