I took the SAT last January and June and ended up w/ the exact same scores in my CR and M sections. :(

Maybe I'm just feeling particularly insecure after being deferred from one of my top-choice schools but does anyone think it's a good idea to retake the SAT a third time in January to raise my score (I have a 1410 CR+Math w/ a 800 for W). It was pretty much my own fault that I didn't improve my second time--I didn't really review/study as much as I should have.

So what do you think? Go for it one last time? Or would colleges look down upon someone taking the SAT a third time/January of their senior year?

Please respond with some constructive advice, I really don't know who else to ask. :)

Well it depends what type of school you're looking at. A 1410 is still highly competitive at nearly all schools. Also, out of 2400, you have an even more impressive score. It'd help to know what schools you are applying to, but I'd say you are fine.

If you retake it and do a bit better, Georgetown might reconsider, if your other stats are strong. Just make sure the schools you're applying to will take scores from as late as January--some of the ones I applied to said the latest they would look at was November (but they had earlyish deadlines and decision dates).
