I spent a good deal of time putting together an instrumental arts supplement as well as a detailed resume of my experience. If you're not an international award winning musician or "best in state," will it still help? I've heard that some schools evaluate a supplement 1-4 and if you get a 4 it will help your application a lot. However, if you get a 2-3 it probably won't help; and if you get a 1 it hurts. Does anyone know? I'm curious b/c I'm hoping that my supplements will pull some weight.

I can't comment on the 1-4 ranking system, as that's the first I ever heard of it.

A recent thread is here, http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/603633-regarding-art-music-supplements-please-help.html and please follow the additional thread links posted within.

Whether your supplement will carry any weight is a function of your talent(s), potentially your primary instrument, and will be VERY school specific.

Good luck.
