Advice on how to make it to M10?

@Leslie41 congrats to your daughter!!! As far as travel, we live much further from New England than Alabama…as such, travel for revisits is somewhat prohibitive. My husband has not seen any of the schools that we applied to, so we had to figure out a time that all of us could go between work, sports and school schedules. We decided we would take a chance and booked flights out to Boston for our Spring Break…in hopes that my son gets accepted into at least one of his schools…he did apply to some “back up” schools, even though I guess we are not supposed to call them that. Revisit days for those school’s fall right at state competition for my daughter, state track for my son and/or Ironman for my husband…plus finals week for the quarter. So, this is how we will do it. If he doesn’t get in anywhere, we can at least visit Boston and make a vacation out of it while he licks his wounds…hopefully, flights will work for you, but I’ve made the 3000 mile one-way drive in less than three days, so if you’re determined…lol

@makp715 , I read on a separate thread that last year’s email notifications did not allude to the decision either way, so as long as you change your setting to only show the subject line, the decision will remain a mystery until the email is actually opened!

@Leslie41 Congrats to your daughter!

@buuzn03

Thanks! Wow, I can’t imagine driving cross-country in three days. My husband and I are in our fifties already. We had our daughter when we were nearly forty. We feel old these days. We were planning on three days up to the northeast from the deep south!

I feel like our daughter really has to be at the school to make a decision about it. She will not be there on official revisit days (we cannot accomplish that with our teaching schedules) but we feel like visiting the campus and just talking to a couple of people will give her a real idea of whether she likes it or not. She visited Concord Academy and instantly hated it, though I really couldn’t understand why. She couldn’t either, but she hated it. Loved Andover and Walnut Hill, but who knows how she will react to the other schools? Hopefully it will be her home for four years, so I want her to be excited about going. I think the schools will all be in session so she can really get a “vibe”.

Hoping to have to travel over our spring break! Having to decide between different schools is the problem we all want to have!

@Leslie41 I completely understand! That was our thought process, too…at least get the feel for the schools so we could make a better informed decision…again, knock on wood we get the chance to make a decision! I was over 35 when I had my son, so nipping at your heels with the age thing. Seems like we have a lot in common! It is comforting to know there are others in the same position we are and are approaching it similarly. Good luck to y’all in the next 9 days, your daughter’s auditions…and hopefully with your impending school visit trip!

I admit, I stayed up til midnight to log into the portal of the first choice school. DS slept right through it…

I continue to learn from him!

That was my plan @gardenstategal ! <:-P

@sunnyschool , you know I want that one to be a yes for you!

Yes, I do @sunnyschool - though I’m worried because that one has been verryyyy quiet since our visit. :blush:

^^ Oops - tagging myself ^^ - meant @gardenstategal ! :">
