Advice?!!

I know a couple MD's at GS & I know the Vice President of NASDAQ OMX, she's a very good mentor to me but I don't know how to use the contacts I have. Do I email them and update them on what I am doing this summer, whatever it is? I'm hoping to prepare for an internship at GS next summer (I'm a sophomore btw). I've been obsessed with GS since high school and I've done some of the discovery programs so far but since I come from a non-target school I'm thinking I need to network like crazy this summer if I even want to be considered in the Fall! Any advice for me?

p.s. sorry for posting on your post, just wanted to ask question!

Coming from a non-target, you will definitely be facing an uphill battle. That said, having contacts is a huge help. You need to leverage those contacts to 1) look into potential internships and 2) possibly make other connections.

At the very least you need to keep in touch - update emails (going on in your life, internships coming up, etc) and profession questions (questions on industry, group, etc) are great ways to do this.

PM me if you have other questions or need more insight.
