I really need someone's advice on what I should do....

See Im enrolled in Biology H this yr, and I had the idea to also take Chemistry H as well. (sophmore)

The math head dude bent the rules and said yes... but he wasn't too enthusiastic. My guidance counselor even said i should not take Chem this yr. Both of them said I had enough hard classes to worry about... so I shouldn't do it.

I walked out of their today... confused.

Did i make the right decision...

My Schedule without Chem

Ap US History
Computers in Art ( art requirement, can take this any year)
Psychology 1
Alg/Trig H
English 10 H
Ap US Gov
Intro to business (STUPID CLASS i have beacause of sched. conflicts)
Phys Ed
Spanish 3 H
Biology H

Chem would replace C. in art and Psych....

Both said I did make the right desicion .... but ???

Eh, you have 3 honors classes and 2 AP classes, I think you have a decent courseload. If you don't feel that you can handle any more classes, then don't take Chemistry this year.

Its not that I can't ...I don't know... I can't screw up in any of these courses. I messed up freshman year. Is it possible to get an A in chemistry without any knowledge in Biology.

I don't recall pretty much anything of biology from 8th grade, but taking chemistry this year wasn't tough at all. If you pay attention in class and grasp the concepts early, chemistry is easy.

I actually know a few people who took both Chem GT and Biology GT (GT is like Honors) during sophomore year. It's doable... and I don't remember much Biology knowledge being required for Chem, aside from basic scientific principles that I'm sure you know from whatever science course you took freshman year.

I took honors Chem and honors Physics at the same time (honors at my school is basically AP-level with all of the work and none of the college credit); you can handle Chem and Bio.

you have a really long day, or are you on block schedule?

i think if you like both, then take both... but if you feel you can't handle it, then don't take it..its do-able, my friends and i are taking multiple science classes.
