AEM vs. Boston College Business School?

I was just accepted into Boston College's Carroll School of Management (Honors program) but received no financial aid. I also got into Cornell''s business program (AEM) which, for a NYS resident, is 33k (versus the 50k for BC).

Any opinions on which is the better value? Is BC worth the extra 17k a year?

If you ask me, I would choose Cornell AEM over BC Carroll, even without considering the tuition.

Agreed. I think Cornell AEM is a much better deal overall (of course you are on the Cornell board).

if your looking into i-banking then you should pick cornell because Cornell is recruited very heavily by top i-banks

Is this a serious comparison? BC is a good school, and Carroll is a good business school, but AEM is one of the best business schools at one of the best universities in the world. Furthermore, with the money consideration, it's a no-brainer. Unless you hate the idea of living in Ithaca...

I agree with all of the above; I applied to both as well but Cornell is undoubtedly better, especially with recruiting. I'm working at Goldman Sachs this summer and from what I've seen, there's a huge Cornell alumni base at all of the top banks. My director @ gs is a cornell alumni as well...

LOL. nobody would choose to attend Boston College over Cornell for 13k more a year. Many people would probably choose to go to Cornell over BC even if Cornell costs 13k more a year, the other way around. I agree with other posters. This is really a no brainer at all. Cornell.

BC is one helluva a school itself. It's in Boston, so recruiting is going to be pretty damn good as well.

Whatever your heart wants.

Cornell AEM without a doubt... for reasons mentioned above.

Besides, if you're a NY Jets fan think about having to deal with all the pesky Pats fans every day in your classes, social outings and interviews.

Go to BC and let the rest of us go to Cornell
