Schools such as Andover suggest you wait it out before directly contacting them if something is specifically missing from your application as they will contact you first. I do however remember it being said that priority will be given to applicants who have all parts of their application submitted by January 15. Given this, I ask is an applicant in anyway disadvantaged by the fact that they failed to submit all required parts of the application by January 15, but followed the school's instructions in waiting for them to make first contact?

I don’t think so, if you did everything that was under your direct control by the deadline.

Many schools are just now sending in transcripts and recommendations. My son’s school only mailed transcripts and the school side of things out last Saturday (the 21st), for example, and so far, those have not been logged in at any school; it takes time for mail to move, and much more time for the envelopes to get opened and the pieces logged in the systems. You should monitor the situation, of course, and if the pieces don’t start falling into place by sometime next week, only then begin to have any concern at all. Obviously, if there is some problem, respond promptly. Just do the math of how many pieces of mail and pieces of applications have to handled and logged; once you do that, I think you’ll understand why it takes a while.

Yeah, it was just the transcripts remaining. Thanks so much for the peace of mind!:D
