there is only 1 black girl in my 5 honors/ap classes.
my school is 67% white.

Not many in each class... I'm the only AA in all but one of my AP classes, and the rest in that one AP class don't try and it's pointless for them to be in there... but more power to them, I guess..

Well for me my school is like 99.7% African American. So generally all of my AP classes have all black students. In fact out of my five AP classes I've never had one white student.

Where do you go to school?

class of around 800. in my AP/Honors class it ranges from 0-3, at most.

Yeah, in my honors class it's usually just me and one other black person. In total, I'd say that around 3-4 of us are in Honors/AP out of a class of 550+

I'm biracial, too, but whatever, I guess for our purposes I count as black. I'm the only black kid in IB (out of about 60 juniors and seniors). I'm also the only black kid you would find in any AP classes (although, I can only speak for the senior class of about 500, I don't know about underclassmen). We joke about how I am the diversity in most of my classes.

I'm in honors classes and will be in APs next year (currently junior). I go to a 93% Black school (1/2Black male myself) and there are only 2-4 non blacks in honors/ap classes lol.
class size is 381

I go to a small private school that is predominantly white, mexican and asian. I think there's a total of 10 or less AA students (including me) in my school. To my knowledge, I think I'm the only AA who actually takes AP classes (my school doesn't have many and they're offered on a VERY limited basis; by the time I graduate, I'll only have taken 2) in my class and probably the whole school. So yeah, I'm usually the only AA in my AP classes (and in my regular college prep classes).

In my school ap/honors classes usually tend to smaller (around 15) in most of my Ap classes 2 or 3 students out of a total 15 are black, considering that 13% of my school is black, thats pretty representative.

in my honors spanish class- 4
in my honors art class- 3
in my AP Macro- 2
AP lit- 4
Honors Calc- 2
Honors Physics- 2
AP Psych-3

AP Physics: 0
AP Biology: 0
AP Calc BC: 0
APUSH: 0
H. English: 0 (one last semester, but he transferred to regular English this semester)

^^^ That's crazy. What are your school demographics like?

AP Gov - 4 or 5
AP Eng - 3
AP Bio - 4
AP Spanish - 2 or 3
AP Photo - None

What's more interesting is the male/female ratio in AP classes. In nearly every one of my classes it's a 1:4 male/female ratio

AP English Language: 2
AP Calculus BC: 0
AP Statistics: 0
AP Economics: 1
AP Psychology: 0

It is pretty shocking and kind of sad...
Especially since there ARE a lot of Black people at my school. I don't know the stats but during lunch it seems like at least 15-20%.
I think the culture associated with Black people has something to do with it. Especially the "talking Black" part. The Black people I know that are in AP speak with proper grammar and not "ghetto grammar" and and the majority of their friends aren't Black and they're often teased about "not really being Black." And they aren't offended - they laugh.

I'm Hispanic and I see a lot of ghetto Hispanics at my school who aren't in AP either - and I'm sure there are generally more Whites in my AP classes... but I never really think about it. I don't think it's how other people are treating the minorities that is creating less racially proportionate AP classes - but instead how the minorities are treating themselves and how much confidence they have as a young person.

Also I just wanted to point out that I think it's kind of funny how if some one is half-minority and half-white (as I am) they check the minority box for their race. You get the advantage of Affirmative Action without the racism that used to go down in the past.

Ah yeah there's usually more females to males in my AP classes too (but more like 2:1) at least for classes like English and Psychology. Math classes like Calculus are usually pretty even.

None.

In any of my classes.

Precal-three(including myself)
English 3 H- 6(including myself)
APUSH-5 (including myself)
French 4 H- 1 (me)

Its basically all the same kids in each classrrom.....

There are no African-Americans in any of the honors classes at my school. (probably 9-10 African Americans out of about 1000 people)

asian: 60% white: 30% AA:>1%
Chem H: 0
APCS AB: 0
PreCalc: 0
Japanese 4: 0

then again, my school has 10 black kids...
there are a few gangster wanna be asian nerds in my chem class though

(I'm not including myself):
BC Calc: 0
AP English Lit: 0
AP Gov: 1
AP Psych: 0
However, according to wikipedia the school I go to is only 1.45% black anyway, so take the above for what it's worth.
