<p>No...having 1000 in a class doesnt mean much. What it usually means is that it is a big, urban public school was many minorities and students of lower social-economic status. While elite schools do want diversity, they will only take the Top of the Top in these schools because theres not too much competition.
And Im not sure if its scary...I went to one myself, albiet on the east coast.</p>
