so basically I checked a box on my transfer application that says I didnt graduate and earned my GED. However, this is definitely not true. Will colleges realize that I did graduate when they receive my high school transcript or should I send a letter explaining the mistake? Will this impact my admissions decision? (I just received an email from Oberlin saying they accepted me into the class of 2012.... I am a transfer candidate for the the Class of 2011. This has freaked me out since I dont really know what to think of it and I still am waiting on my decision from Tufts)

when you marticulate, you will have to send your GED or highschool transcript(to see/check advanced credits such as AP)..
I would notify the colleges ASAP
sooner or later they will find out

would you recommend emailing an admissions officer directly or sending a letter? I know adcoms are busy and I dont want to agitate them. I also want to make sure I notify them asap cause admissions decisions are being made during april at Tufts.

I would call first, and ask for the appropriate department/person to contact regarding your problem.

Sometimes, you may not need the adcom at all. Some schools have "record department" that takes care of all the records(compiling transcripts, SAT scores, etc).

I'm not sure about Tufts. But I would definitely call them ASAP.

Wait, just to check: If you're accepted, and you decide to attend the school you have to send in your transcripts again? Why?

Assuming I haven't completed any new courses (did not have a winter semester due to internship) would I have to send it in too? Or will they just contact the school for verification.
