Aid?

How is Middlebury and Williams with aid?

Well, I don't know about Williams because I didn't look there, and I'm not on financial aid at Midd, but my friends who are are quite happy with it--at least, I haven't heard any complaints. They don't offer academic or athletic scholarships, but they do offer need-based aid and are need-blind, too. I'd recommend that you talk to the financial aid office and ask them about what they offer, they're more than happy to answer questions.

Well...I'm gonna be a Midd freshman in a few days so I can tell you a bit about the aid. Lindy is absolutely correct...most people at Midd do seem fairly content with their aid packages and the Midd aid policy is fairly consistent. However...Midd is only need blind for American students. I myself am an Intl student and Midd is said to have only a mediocre aid polciy for intl. students. Now I've been given a full ride so I'm not complaining...but I have been told that I am the only Midd intl student to have been offered a 100% aid package. (I don't know if that's just to make me feel special or whether it's actually true!) If you are interested in the exact policy you can call/write to the office of financial aid at Midd. The email add is financialaid@middlebury.edu and if you write/speak to Ms. Patricia Santner...she seems pretty friendly and cooperative.
Good luck for your application to Midd.
Oxymoron
p.s. Williams is the only lac that is need blind for intl students as well. I felt that I had to mention that...even though I dont want you going to Williams!

That's right, I'd forgotten about international student financial aid. One of my roommates last year was from Turkey and she said that one of the deciding factors for her was that Midd was one of the only lacs here that will offer any kind of aid to international students at all.
