ok any suggestions on how you did soo well ?? please dont say naturally smart b/c i know some of you guys arre =] i give you props .. but in terms of workbooks/tutors/ what BOOKs did you use b/c i cant afford a tutor lol

again congrats to those who did so well

eee...mm....

PRACTICE!
i like Princeton Reviews, personally. i hate being overprepared because then i have too many things to think about in my head. so in my opinion, barrons is a no-no-no.

Hello,

All of the SAT prep books are reviewed on ceeae.org

Feel free to peruse the reviews and rankings, and if you can click on the advertisers to help us continue to provide free and unbiased info for students such as yourself.

you're going to get responses from 80% of the people on CC if your cutoff is only 2000. lol j/k....or am I?

The best resource I had was the Blue Book. Buy it and use it. Unless your score was god-awful the first time, tutors are pretty useless.

If you really want to kick it up a notch, get Barrons and you can feel like an idiot, but you'll be prepared.

^ lmao .. yeah 2000 is the cutoff .. but the lowest i want to get is a 2100
soo so far its

DEFFINATELY THE BLUE BOOK

PRINCETON REVIEW ? 11 practice test ?

BARRONS 2400 <- what about that

do you think this can help with the psat

Well just another rec that I'll be using...it's for the ACT, but I'm sure questions in it would help for either test. ACT for Braniacs is supposed to focus solely on the hardest, trickiest questions - the ones that trip me up. May come in handy if you're stuck at a score and going for an extra boost.

I love barron's. It seriously raised my reading score in one day. Well, I spend all morning and afternoon pouring over that book that day, but still, it's effective. Its writing section is gold.

PR's 11 practice tests is pretty good too b/c it has explanations.

10 real sat's (the redbook, either version) is good b/c there are explanations online and it more closely mirrors the real test.

other than that, practice mindfully. I mean practice to see what you are weak at. THen stop practicing for a few days and drill your weaknesses by using the prep books or even a textbook. THen practice again.

Repeat.

Do I count with a 1550 on the old SAT?

Got a full night's sleep, and smuggled in snacks (ate in the bathroom during break). These two things are so much more important than you think, especially now that the SAT is so much longer now than it was when I took it.

That, and I read a lot.

2230 with just the Blue Book.

i got a 2090 raised from an 1870... retaking again for 2300 though

if I were you i would get the following books

Barrons 2400 (very insightful strategies)

COllegeboard Blue Book

COllegeboard online course (very helpful and if you look hard enough you can find it for free)

Kaplans and Barrons Writing Workbook (very helpful for M/C)

oh and for Critical reading... i havent been able to crack that nut yet... so im not sure, i guess if you dont read a lot take as many practice tests as you can.

thanks again everyone !!!!
