Airport transportation

For those students who are way OOS and need to fly into the airport, how do you get to the Vanderbilt campus?

City bus, shuttle, etc.

I am especially interested in public (i.e. low cost) transportation as I live on a student budget.

Also, does the University run a bus or shuttle to the airport at the the peak travel dates like the begining and end of each semester, spring break, etc. ?

I usually take the Gray Line airport express. A student ticket costs $16 round trip. It will take you to the Loew's Vanderbilt Plaza hotel which is right across from campus. Also, VSG will run shuttles at the beginning and end of fall, thanksgiving, and spring break for $5 one way. I'm sure the bus system has a route to the airport too, but I don't know any details. Google Nashville MTA to find their website.

You can get to the airport via bus ... there is a direct bus to the airport from downtown, so you'd have to take a bus from school to downtown to the airport. Transfers are not free, though. If it's a holiday, the school shuttle is probably just as cost effective. It doesn't always work out timewise, though, so the bus is a good option.

My D has also taken the Grayline from the Loew's hotel. It's the fastest way, and it's really reasonable.

Either get a ride from a friend or grab a cab, $25, easily split with another Vandy student from your flight.

Super shuttle, which is a shared ride van airport service company in many larger cities nationwide is now in Nashville.
