airport transportation?

I heard that from the Syracus Hancock International airport that there were shuttle vans during available during important student events such as orientation, fall break, thanksgiving, christmas, spring, etc....

Does anyone know how much they cost approximately?

prices tend to go up every year…i think i remember something like $110 round-trip?

call and figure it out.

they do run all day but only if they have customers.

I don’t know which one you are referring to. However, there is this Ithaca Airline Limo (check: [Ithaca Airline Limo](http://www.ithacaairlinelimo.org/)) which costs $80 for one way, and $110 for round trip. You would have to call them to make the reservation, etc. Also, you are only allowed to have 1 luggage, so if you are planning to bring a lot of stuff, you should let them know in advanced. For details, just check the website or call them.

the Student Assembly runs a shuttle during the peak times - spring break, winter break…you will get an e-mail from them during the school year.

If possible, fly directly into Ithaca. This will require making a connection at Laguardia, Philly, or Detroit but it’ll save you the HUGE hassle of trying to find expensive and infrequent transportation to and from Syracuse.

I’d highly recommend flying into Ithaca if at all possible.

I’d much rather have two flights and land in Ithaca than a direct flight to Rochester or Syracuse.

thanks for the info about the ithaca airline limo! I was actually thinking about flying to Syracuse since it’s $100 so cheaper than flying to Ithaca.

does anyone know anything about the student assembly running shuttles during peak times?

They usually would send out emails about it. Something that would look like this: [Cornell University - Ticket Sales](http://cornelltickets.universitytickets.com/user_pages/event.asp?id=280&cid=16)

About flying to Syracuse, and then continue to Ithaca: There is an even cheaper way of going to Ithaca. You can take the Trailways bus (check: Trailways - Best Prices on Bus Tickets and Charter Buses). However, this requires you to go from the airport to the bus/train station. So, don’t know if you are up for it. Also, the trailways costs $14 for one way. Their services are pretty good  Or, you can take Greyhound as well.

However, the easiest way is still flying to Ithaca just like what others have suggested.

for $100 cheaper go to Ithaca . the difference (for us) is frequently more.

many students will fly into syracuse b/c there are just not enough airplane seats to ithaca…

if you can fly into ithaca for $400 round trip…i’d say take it :)

How much are you guys paying for your fares? $400 seems very expensive. I fly from Chicago to Ithaca for $190 round trip.

that’s a great deal caillebotte…didnt know ithaca flew to chicago directly!

from houston i used to be able to do something like 300-400. closer to 400$ if i waited until the last minute.

^yeah it’s pretty nice. Delta/US Airways is the way to go.

It isn’t a direct flight though, there’s a stop for connection in either Detroit or Philadelphia for me.

SF Bay Area to Ithaca directly is $567. Sigh…

Are either of these links useful?

[Ithaca to Syracuse - Ithaca Forum - TripAdvisor](http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g47958-i956-k787185-Ithaca_to_Syracuse-Ithaca_Finger_Lakes_New_York.html)

How are you guys getting direct flights? I’m from Phoenix and I can’t find a direct flight no matter the cost? I either have layovers in Philadelphia or Chicago…

Why would you choose direct flight? It’s much cheaper to have layover somewhere.

It is literally impossible to have a non-stop flight from California or Pheonix to Ithaca because the facilities at ITH cannot physically accomodate the larger planes required for cross-country flights. ITH is a regional airport that services destinations only as far away as Detroit.

that’s what i thought but someone said they could fly direct from san francisco to ithaca. i can’t even fly direct to syracuse or rochester. bleh

If you fly into Rochester, are there any shuttles to campus? Frontier flies into Rochester and it seems to be much cheaper than Delta or US Airways.
