Albany vs UConn vs NYU vs UVA

Hello I am a senior in high school and I am grateful that I was able to get into these universities, planning on majoring in economics. However, I’m not sure which one would be best for me. Albany ($21,000) would be the least expensive choice due to my instate tuition. But, NYU ($72,000) and UVA ($55,000) have a better reputation and I have been told they will have better internship opportunities because of their location, which will benefit me when I apply to graduate school. I also want to continue my athletics from high school to college in track and field, and I’m not sure if I’d want to go to NYU as it is a DIII school while the others are DI. UConn ($45,000) seems to be a good fit with a good reputation academically and athletically and I received a scholarship for UConn for $18,000 per year, but I don’t know how well the internship opportunities available are here. Please help me decide!

Can anyone give me any advice?

Your post is confusing. If you are a recruited athlete how is it that you don’t already know which teams you’d be able to play on. Have the coaches indicated your are competitive for their D1 teams-Conn especially would be very competitive.

So you qualify for no financial aid at each school?

1°Are you a recruited athlete or do you hope to “walk on”? Have you contacted the coaches to see whether that’s even possible?
2°What’s your parents’ budget “out of pocket”? What’s your net price* at each?
3° Did you get Honors at UConn or Albany?

**net price = (tuition+room+board+fees) - (grants+scholarships)

Sorry for the confusion. I have received letters of recruitment to DII and DIII schools, but I didn’t want to attend those schools. I have not received a letter of recruitment by any D1 team but my high school coach and I know I am capable of competing at the DI level and he has contacted these college coaches and been informing them of my progress throughout the season. I will be calling them tomorrow too to ask for information about me being recruited or walking on. I know that however finish this last season will ultimately effect their decisions of wanting me on their team.

For financial aid, i have completed fafsa and are waiting to see how much i get from scholarships i applied to and the CSS. My parents are willing to pay for the costs, knowing how expensive schools like NYU and UVA are. So far, I have recieved $3,000 in grants for any of these schools but more financial aid should come.

I got Honors at only Albany.
