I will be going to Preview next week, and I need to know if I should take the ALEKS test. I have Calculus credit all the way up to Calc 3, and I received a 4 on AP Chem which gets me CHM 2045 credit. The tool in “Preview Prep” says that I do not have to take it, but I recently spoke to my friend who was a freshman last year. He had the EXACT same credentials, but he got to Preview without the ALEKS test and they told him he could not register for Chem or Calc and that he had to take the ALEKS test, despite his incoming credits. I’ve heard many different things about whether or not I should take it, so other opinions would be extremely helpful!!!
take it just to be safe. The kid next to me at preview had calc credit but since he didnt take the test they didnt let him register for chm 2045. it may be different since you got a 4 but just to be safe i would take it
I’ve heard you have to take it, even though your AP scores will still get you into the courses you want no matter how you do on ALEKS.
