I would love to go to BU but really need a good amount of aid. How many people apply for these scholarships and how many people get them?

Are these scholarships based mostly on the essays? The reason is I am not the best writer but my stats are good (97.7 GPA and 35 ACT)

If you have high stats and have lots of need, changes are you’ll get lots of financial aid even without special scholarships.

What stats are high enough for the trustee? I have: 95 unweighted 106 weighted average, 2150 sat 33 act (34 superscored but not sure if they do that) 250 plus hours community service,Part time job, 5 ap’s junior year (Calc BC(5) history(5) Bio(5) English(4)Computers(5),and taking 5 senior year. Regional award for science olympiad, selected for state team math. Any chance?? And how important is the essay?

I have good stats but don’t really have a huge need… just looking at regular merit scholarships

are merit-based, need-based scholarships given out annually or are they meant to be divided over 4 years?
as in, if you are awarded 30k in scholarships are you guaranteed that the following years you are an undergrad at BU (assuming nothing major in your family situation has changed financially) or is that meant to be split into the 4 years you spend at the school?

Merit-based are actually still partially need-based. (Dumb, right?) On BU’s website somewhere it said they are usually awarded to students whose estimated parental contribution does not excessively exceed the cost.
