Algebra 2 Honors

I underestimated the difficulty of this class. I have a C in the class, ( Its pathetic, i know) Just wondering if any of you CC'ers have boosted a class grade, C to A?

Yupp, in Alg 2/Trig and in AP Comp Sci, I went from a C to an A.
In Algebra Two, the trick is to just do your homework on time, then before the test go over your notes and then do your homework again on a seperate piece of paper.

Dont ask about Comp Sci, that **** was hard as hell, I had to go back and re-learn everything from the first two months to pull my grade up because the tests are wierd.

Good Luck

I did in Spanish. I finally had to give in and admit to the teacher that I had dyslexia and needed help.

In gov I pulled it up from a B- to an A just because my teacher thought I was a stoner and I had to prove him wrong. I did extra credit and actually studied for the tests.

In AGS III (Algebra/Geometry/Statistics) I dropped to a C during the trig parts. I went to math lab a lot and did the homework thoroughly. Anything I didn't understand I actually asked about instead of justing skipping it like I had been. Finished with an A in the class, went from a 73% to a 94%.

Good luck.

I don't think I'll ever understand why Cs are equivalent to the Apocalypse on here.

I can't get Cs. It's like failing to me. I'm not sure why. But it lowers our GPA so much, that's why people freak out.

I did it in spanish twice last year. I had to work my ass off though. I going to have to do it again this year in religion (class is dumb and if you don't agree with the teachers opinions, you're wrong). I've also brought D's (once an F) to B's a couple times mostly as a result of bombing the first test of the year.

I had a C in physics honors and I was able to bring it to an A. It's very doable. You just need to concentrate on that subject more.

For Algebra 2, you must ALWAYS do ALL of your assigned homework, and do extra if you have trouble. It's very time consuming, but you have to do it. When you have a test or quiz, use ALL of the time alloted. If you finish early, spend the rest of the time furiously punching buttons on your calculator, basically redoing every problem to make sure it's right.

I got through Algebra 2 with A's both semesters doing the above. It's possible to get your grade up.

500th post!

In 7th grade (2 years ago) in one of my classes, I failed the second quiz and got a C- on the first test. So I just put in extra time going over mistakes on assessments, getting extra help from the teacher, etc. After all that, I made a final grade of an A- in that class. So it's definitely possible.

I understand that it lowers your GPA, but no one can get As and Bs in every single subject. You just have to accept that you're not perfect.GASP Yes, I said it.

I went from a D- to a B+ in math fourth quarter last year...it's very possible, especially if your teacher tests a lot.

HisGraceFillsMe: it's true that a lot of people on here are inordinately afraid of Cs, but a lot of people on here are also uncommonly smart, and know that they're able to pull an A if they try. I don't know about you, but I feel like crap when I don't do my best on something...

OP: Algebra 2 is tough, but as most people have said, if you keep your focus and consistently do homework, and get extra help if you possibly can, you can totally pull up your grade, and your teacher will appreciate the effort, too. :)

I do too. I'm not like advocating Cs...I hate that I got 2 Cs my Junior Year. :( Every time I look at my transcript it makes me sad. But at the same time, it's not like ONE little C is going to break you for college.

I went from a B- to an A- last year in Alg 2.. It was rough but I did it.. My thing was I hated doing the hw but I had to suck it up and do it..

I don't know but getting a B is like failing to me.. I've gotten one my whole high school career and I felt so bad.. It ruins my GPA and I feel like I didn't do my best even though it was..

i've never had to boost a C to an A but in algebra 2 u shouldn't have trouble boosting it to an A....

In high school, I went from a D- to an A in Algebra 2 Honors and went from a C- to an A in Pre-Calculus Honors. Sometimes it takes time to adjust to the teacher's style.

I went from an F to an A in Science my sophomore year. :) THAT was difficult. I pretty much worked my butt off all semester...but the teacher thought way more of me for it.

In fact, in my yearbook she wrote "You are one of the hardest working students I have ever had. Keep up the good work."

Moral of the story? It's doable. ;)

F to A....Can i ask if you were taking Chemistry?

We take Integrated Science at my school. So technically no, though we did some Chemistry.
