I’m making plans to come out to the Tournament. Where would you recommend staying?

Here:

Thanks

Its booked.

I highly recommend the Academy Hotel (it's a Best Western). Reasonable rates, breakfast buffet included, VERY convenient to the Academy, easy to get to, etc.

You're welcome LFWB dad. We had a good experience with them.

It is also a good time to remind the USAFA parents and prospective parents that booking a room early for Parent's Weekend '07 is a good idea. Most hotels allow bookings up to 50 weeks in advance, so right now is not too early. Even if your child is a prospective 2011, and you aren't sure, book it now and cancel if you have to, rather than trying to find a room close to the Academy later on when you know for sure.

I say the same thing...believe me, there is nothing worse for you or for your cadet to not get to see you on parent's weekend because the hotels are full...my parents even looked into hotels for West Point...I guess there is a point where you DO prepare too much.

OK guys, I guess you do have to be really obsessive to get into the Academy, but, hey, there were rooms available in the Springs right up to Parent's Weekend. They were just a lot farther away than the ones on North Academy Drive. There were even rooms available in Manitou Springs on that weekend, and they have their own festivities going on. Of course, a prudent person will book ahead, and the more they want a particular location or facility the farther ahead they will make reservations. But if you don't get the hotel you prefer, your life isn't really over!

Just thinking about wrestling...someone asked me several weeks ago if I knew a Cadet Ball, anyone recall that?

I think that was my son, Benjo6. Send me a PM and I'll give you his email address if you like.
