All-American?

Hey folks,
I play rugby and two of my rugby buddies just made All-American in rugby. They will be playing for the U-19 USA All-Eagles rugby team and for the junior world cup in the spring.

Our skill levels are pretty similar. I think there is a chance that I can make it too.The coaches think that I have a good chance at making All-State select. But I need to work out intenesely for the next 3 month or so, by that I mean running and lifting weights hours a day. I had an injury last year and I just recently healed completely, so there is a little tad of extra fat in me. And my speed and strength is definitely not what it used to be.

So is rugby All-American/All-State really that big of a deal? Its already taking a nice chunk of my time already and I have like a bunch of school ECs too. So I am hard pressed for time already. I might need to drop a lot of school clubs and plays so I can train and prepare myself for the nationals in the end of may.

So is it worth it to pursue that? or should I just focus on my schools ECs and academics more?

Thanks a lot.

all-american anything should be awesome. and rugby is cool! I'd say if you have the talent, why waste it? =) go for it go go googoggoogogoogogoogogggggggggggggo

Yup, I started running today and doing weights.
But I did lightly injure my upper leg muscle again today in pratice. I am broken all over. I sprained my ankle, broke two fingers, torn a lingment in my leg and bruised a shoulder since I started playing rugby. And I am still adjusting to it.
