I know this may be different with every person, but for those of you with seasonal allergies and asthma.....

How is Orlando's air quality? Are you better or worse than you were in your own home state? (I've tried looking and can only find day to day air quality info, don't see archival data on how many good/bad days in year, etc.)

My D has about a two week window every fall and spring where she is barking/coughing/ wheezing, etc. She has a rescue inhaler for school but in last two days it hasn't helped. She also has a nebulizer that she uses at home.

I'm just wondering how she's going to make it in college....

Thanks for any info you can share..

I’ve lived in Central Florida/Orlando for the majority of my life and I have allergies year-round. Obviously, they get worse when the pollen count is really high, but even with such high marks, I still have symptoms.

For me, it’s awful - eyes, sinuses, nose, throat - the whole shabang.

Typically, there are a few weeks in the year that have a SUPER high pollen count, but the rest is pretty average I think. I’m no meteorologist, but that’s what I think based on experience.

I hope your D is able to have a good experience here and at UCF!

Oh yeah, allergies can get really nasty around here. I’ve been having it the last few weeks and while Zyrtec helps, it’s still annoying. I’m one of those people that are allergic to everything… most types of fruits too. I hear the Neti pot does wonders… do you guys have any past experience with this? Or any other types of over the counter medications that actually works well?

Tell your daughter to bring around some eye drops too…
