I am currently enrolled at Radford University and have discovered this isn’t my cup of tea… I applied and was accepted to JMU this past year. If I apply as a transfer am I more likely to get in since I was already accepted? Since I only have one year at Radford completed how slim are my chances of getting into JMU? I am extremely scared that I won’t be accepted due to grades, and that I’m a one year transfer… Any information is helpful!!
Are you scared b/c of your current grades? What are they?
Yes, what are your current grades? It might make more sense to wait for a transfer.
What don’t you like about Radford? What’s better at JMU? I’m asking because if this is just about finding your place, that takes time.
I’m speaking as a student who transferred after freshman year. I transferred to a school I had been accepted to previously. I think it’s important to understand that even when transferring to the perfect school, you will feel like a freshman again for some time. You won’t automatically have a place.
You might not need to apply as a transfer. Contact JMU, and ask what the process is for a student who was accepted within the last year. You might only need to “reactivate” your earlier application. If you want/need to start classes for second semester, the process might be even easier.
