Transfering to JMU from ODU

Hey guys I had a question, I am currently a freshman at Old dominion University and maintained a 3.83 GPA my first semester. I did not have any math or science classes, but i am taking a math class my second semster. I was decent in h.s with a 3.1 GPA and had varisty basketball and football. My question was that what do you think my chances are of getting in? I read some guy had from odu had a 3.4 with no math or science classes and was denied? I was wondering if you think the same would happen to me or if i had a decent chance of being accepted. Please any comments would be helpful. Thanks

Good chance, but it would be better if you were to apply as a junior instead of as a sophomore (college GPA is more important and then your HS record and SAT scores wouldn't really matter). Transfers between VA state schools (even UVA, not sure about W/M though) are usually easier to do than getting in as a freshman.

really no responsed, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeseeeeeeeeee someone save me .

You may have a chance to get in, have you applied? I'm in a similar situation as you. I am a sophomore at Radford University and am waiting to hear back from JMU. I have a 3.6 gpa and 49 credits before this semesters end. After this semester i would imagine i will have atleast a 3.5 with 62 credits. Also i am a computer science major which will increase my chances. Do you have a declared major, sometimes it helps. And if you are a business major it may reduce your chances more seeing they have a very competitive business program. Good luck by the way.

Yea i already applied but im hearing that I will get waitlisted or rejected just becasue of the fact i didnt really have a science math or history class finished in my first semester. I am still undecided about my major. I just really want to get in. Any response will be helpful thanks
