I have talked to the yale track coach over the summer and he is very interested in me and might put me on his "Recruit List"... Will this help me if im on this list? What are my overall chances to getting into yale?? Thanks, and God Bless,
Mike

sorry-im a senior-and i want to send in this for EA in the next few weeks..sorry-typo

You are a solid student, but you can do more to make yourself stand out, because while you are a good applicant, nothing is exceptional about you. SAT scores are good, but could be higher. Try to retake the ACT or SAT--the higher the better. But if you don't want to, you're fine with that ACT score.
Grades are decent, although you should try your best to avoid Bs this year. Are you taking the hardest courseload at your school? How is your rank?
Extracurriculars are decent. Try to do something special as leader of those clubs...a VP position is good but colleges want to see that you actually did something. Other than that, great job.
If you get recruited for XC, you should be easily admitted considering the rest of your app is fine. Good luck!!!

sorry=haha my math score is a 660 on the SAT IIs
My class rank by the way is 4 out of 500 and im taking 2 of those aps online so its as hard as it gets in terms of coarse load.

And can someone explain why my chances would go up so much if im on coaches 'recruit list"?what would my chancesbe if i wasnt? thanks again for your help,
Mike

I'm a track recruit myself (shot put). I'm fairly familiar with Coach Shoehalter. You should definately be in contact with him as much as possible. Ask him about the other mid-distance recruits and where you stand among them (track-wise and school-wise). PM me if you have any other questions

Impressive record; go for it. Here are a few general tips: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showpost.php?p=2936517&postcount=10
