I submitted my app on the first. How long will it take to be contacted for an alumni interview?

It’s hard to tell. The request has to go to the chairperson of the local alumni interview committee, who then assigns it out to an interviewer, who will then contact you.
So it depends both on how quickly this all happens and on how many applicants are assigned to how many interviewers.

When my son applied, his alumni interview never materialized despite several inquiries he made to the coordinator for our area. Now a Tufts graduate, that didn’t affect the outcome of his application.

It took less than a week for an alumi to contact me - I submitted mine on the first too :)

Our alumni interviewers are broken down into committees that are defined, mostly, by geography and population centers. Each committee runs more or less independently of the others can can have slightly different time cycles.

A committee with a lot of ED2 applicants might devote early January efforts to those, for instance, where another committee might not need to. Some committees are too small for the number of applicants we get from that area, others are much larger than they need to be. It’s variable how long it takes to be contacted, and not everyone who requests an interview can be accommodated (though, as worrywart aptly states, we don’t hold that against you).

The good news is that the VAST majority of those who request an interview get one. If January ends and you’re still waiting for a first contact from an alumni interviewer, then it might be time to check in and politely reiterate you continuing willingness to be patient, but also your excitement to meet a Tufts alum for a conversation.

I applied EDII and requested an interview but I haven’t been contacted yet. Should I call the office and inquire about an interview or let things be? I know there are many Tufts alums in my area. Thanks!
