Alumni (Leadership) Scholarship Interview!!

Does anyone know what the interview process is? I've heard you sit before a panel of 5 or so people, but i'm not sure. What kinds of questions do they ask?

Also, how many people are selected to interview vs how many win in the end?

I think you only interview w/one person actually, but not everyone gets the same person, so they kinda "fight" for their preferred candidate. At least that's how a friend of mine had it (San Diego region), maybe each region is different?

The point is to emphasize leadership, not academics. Don't go in there talking about your SAT scores. ;-)

Each region is different. My friend had a panel of six people, I had two panels of two people each, so it can vary. 250 win in the end, don't know how many actually get the interview, but 2000+ people apply for it. The questions asked are pretty straightforward (leadership experiences, who you are, why Cal, why you want the scholarship, etc).

I live in San Francisco and haven't gotten an e-mail or a call yet. There's still time, right?

You should have gotten an email informing you that you were a finalist. So the answer to your question is no.

I have gotten an e-mail informing that I am a finalist. However, it said that I would be called or e-mailed for an interview. Sorry for the confusion but that is the correspondence that I have yet to receive.

Rick, I got an email already. and another person at Lowell got the same interviewer (at the same time -_-). I'm sure the email is coming soon.

I am having my interview for the Orange County area.

I'm asked to have 2 copies of my submitted application, but I don't have any copy at all!!! I don't even remember what was on the application. I don't know what to do!

Orange County...have gotten email for finalist, but no email or phone call about interview.

kimx, did they call or email you?

They emailed me about finalist status last week and emailed me a time for the interview this morning. I couldn't make the Saturday, April 19th interview in Irvine, so they actually emailed me with an alternate date.
