I didn’t apply for financial aid, but I still got the email.

And yeah… I don’t think Fordham will just yank them back. It just hurts their credibility… I remember all the negative attention some Ivy school got a couple of years ago for yanking 75 people’s acceptance. Fordham isn’t an Ivy school, but it’s still highly ranked and regarded.

I don’t work for Fordham so I have no idea what really happened. It might be some went out by mistake early, but that doesnt mean they are incorrect.

If you didnt get one, dont panic.

Admissions is a process and includes grades, courses, gpa, SAT, extracurriculars and recommendations and essay.

My kid applied RD and was accepted in2007. She got an early email of similar congrats, followed by the package which arrived within a week.

Every applicant is reviewed for scholarships. Some find out immediately with the offer of acceptance and some find out later depending on the pool of RD applicants and other factors.

Have we officially confirmed that indeed it means one is accepted? I’d assume it means just that, but I’m still skeptical for some reason. If I were Fordham, I wouldn’t say…

“Congratulations once again on your admission to Fordham.”

…for no good reason, especially hours before official admission notices go out. Would they shoot that email out even if they knew you weren’t accepted?

Received the same e-mail. Called the telephone # for Student Aid Services. The rep I spoke with seemed a little evasive when I asked if receiving this e-mail meant student was accepted and mentioned something about some kind of mix up with sending out the e-mail. She did tell me that she just learned that online decisions will be available at 3:00pm tomorrow. I can’t see Fordham pushing this service for a student who was denied. We’ll see what happens at 3:00pm tomorrow.

I got one too. I think it’s a case where they accidentally sent the financial aid letters to the accepted people before Friday, which is when we are officially supposed to find out.

I’m thinking since it said “Congratulations, ONCE AGAIN on your admission to Fordham” that the financial aid info for admitted students came out early by accident. I am pretty sure everyone who got the email is in.

…so if you didn’t get the email does that mean you haven’t been accepted and are deferred??? I feel so left out right now and increasingly anxious hahahaha

SwimmerMan11, did you get the email and apply early action? Apparently, some guy twitter is talking about how they sent that email to everyone that applied Early Action after calling the number and being told that, but I’ve noticed some people who’ve posted here haven’t yet…

SeasonOfLove Haha I legit just read that guy’s tweet and I didn’t get any email from Fordham other than that of general info of the university. I applied early action, but I did applied by the the extended date (Nov. 8) if that makes a difference.

She wouldn’t be specific. And she kind of stumbled around her words. I got the sense that she didn’t want to officially confirm anything. Maybe because the call was being recorded. She also spent a lot of time telling me why it’s such a great advantage to do the FAFSA through them and how Fordham will use the info to determine both needs-based as well as merit aid. Again don’t see why they would go to so much trouble for someone who was denied. Based on the posts of others I think it was a case of the e-mail going out too early. It won’t be the first time that someone hit the send button too quickly. Remaining cautiously optimistic.

…if these don’t work just go to twitter and search “Fordham accepted” or “Fordham acceptance”; that’s what I did. Idk if you need a twitter account, though.

So, does anybody know what it means if you didn’t get an email???
