Am I allowed to being my electric guitar + Amp??

Hey guys so I decided that I will attend UCI because it's a beautiful school and it's relatively close to home (60 -80 minutes?) and I was wondering if I am allowed to bring my Electric guitar + the amplifier into the dorms?

I have an LTD EC-1000 with a Marshall JCM2000 TSL 100 Head and cabinet and I'm a huge metal head. I'm still very respectful of other people's need for quiet and I intend to keep the volume very low but I just want to have it handy just in case.

I'm very passionate about music and I really don't want to have to leave it behind if i go to college. I'm also not strictly a metal guitarist. I'm huge on classical as well as Gypsy jazz.

Here's my rig if you guys are curious: Dethklok - Fansong Solo - YouTube

THANKS :D

Yes you can, but as you mentioned, you need to be respectful of other people.

A lot of people don’t like metal, so perhaps blasting your music in your room can be a nuisance especially since the dorm walls are thin and the sound can penetrate across the hall. Your roommate probably won’t like it either. The best thing to do is use headphones that plug in with an auxiliary cable. Nobody will hear the music except you. Either that, or just play it a low-medium volume when your roommate is out. Just don’t blast it super loud so that everyone in the building could hear. And close your door and window.

I tend to play quietly anyway. But thanks!
