am i good enough for any college? =/

i'm only a junior but my gpa isn't that great and i'm constantly stressing over it
its not because i didnt work hard... i switched schools sophmore year and the work was SO much more challenging that i was used to and it took me a while to adjust =/
my gpa for the first semester as a sophmore was 3.17 (OUCH!)
second semester was 3.5
junior was 3.6 & second semester looks like 4.3
i'm finally adjusted to the school lol but i think its too late now

i took ap bio and honors english sophmore year
and ap psych and ap english this year
and next year im signed up for 4 ap classes (... yeah it scares me too =/ )

im also taking SAT prep classes so i can nail my SATs

do u think my ap classes and a good SAT score will outshine my average gpa?
im aiming for a UC, like Irvine
but I can't help but dream of getting into UCLA and Berkeley (just like everyone else, right? haha)

so, overall, im just asking what my expectations should be when it comes to getting accepting into UCs and what i can do to higher my chances of getting into a good college.
like more volunteering? student council? more clubs? aiming for more awards?

thanks :)

You most definitely have a shot at UCI. In addition to doing well on the SAT (and ACT-- try it!), write one KILLER essay.

ok well u for sure have a good shot at UCI and there is a spot in the UC app that is for additional comments and that is your space to say whatever it is that you were unable to say in the other parts of the app. I STRONGLY suggest that you explain why your GPA was low explaining in a polite way about your switch of schools and your adjustment to it. Now, assuming that everything else will be good ( essays, SATs, and extracurricular) i would say you have a shot at schools “better” than Irvine. Plus the your GPA goes from low to higher in order so its OBVIOUS why and that you are generally a good student. But if i have one advice for you, it would be explain yourself in the additional comments!!!

from the looks of it you would have a 3.8 uc gpa…which is pretty good. it’s lower than the average of uci and definitely ucla+ucb
But after this year’s admission with UCs ive seen freaking 3.2 UW get accepted into UCSD. So yes, you have a shot if you do well on your SATs.
