Am I graduating early?

Hi ,

I am graduating at age 16 ( and a half) from my high school . And my transcript simply states that I am in grade 12. Last year though for the first half of the year it was grade 10 and the next half it was grade 11. I am born December end 1993.I will be graduating in June 2010( with the rest of my grade 12 class) but thats a whole year ahead of where I should be. so does that mean I am graduating early or do I just mention this fact in the additional info section

I really need to know this to fill out my application …Please somebody help!!!

since you were both 10 and 11 in one year, im geussing you skipped 2 semesters( since you were 10th for 1 and 11th for 1, and became 12th)

That means your graduating in 3 years (been in high school for 3 years)

So yes, you are graduating early. Choose yes on the common app and in the additional info/paper tell which years you skipped etc and dont forget to say why your ggraduating early

thanks so much !!!

Would graduating early count for me or against me ???

It is a double sided sword. Schools could view it as being academically brilliant or as being young thus immature.

Depends on the college. I graduated in 3 years also and some people said "maybe the colleges woulda rathered you go to HS an extra year and buff up your resume, others thought it showed hard work etc. I put in my resume I exhausted the classes i was interested in at high school and felt ready to move to college. I got into my first choice so i geuss it worked out pretty well :)

best of luck

thanks!!! … and its nice to know someone has been in the same situation before cowking15…I am glad it worked for u.
