Am I missing out, not going to the FPF CALSO?

i'm bummed out. when i tried signing up for the FPF CalSO it was full.

am i missing out on anything big? :(

heeeeeeeey im with you heeere. i'm also in fpf and i'm missing it. however...i think one of the more important reasons why people go is to get their schedule but we didn't need that =/ so....i think it's mainly showing where everything is and meeting people.....but hey. we'll have a semester to meet people =]

I also missed it when I got it. I ended up going to a sort of make-up CalSo session. You pay a lot less money and the only difference as far as I know is that you don't see a counselor to register for your classes.

i'm missing it too :(
and it sucks because when i first checked the site about the FPF CalSo, it wasn't full, and then when i went back to the site to actually sign up only an hour later, it was full then (do i have bad luck or what!)
i guess all we can do is make sure we go to that mandatory meeting on August 20th

hey, communist smurf, is that make-up session during the summer?

hey guys did you get an email about an 'alternative' fpf orientation? it's called getting your bearings or something like that.

lol what do you guys think? should i go ahead and register?

haha i just got that email, too
i think i might as well sign up...it can only help me and the price is pretty low
does anyone know what a CARS account is? do you have to sign-up for one or does every cal student automatically have one?

IMO, anyone that misses CalSO is missing out on a lot... great opportunity to make friends, get a real feeling for the campus and there's so much in those 2days. A couple of my best friends at Cal I met at CalSO last June. It made things a lot easier in August to know people already and somewhat know your way around.

Hmm...I'm going to have to disagree with CA2006 on this. I think CalSO is definitely pretty fun (especially if you're bored out of your mind during the summer which, chances are, you are), and it's a good opportunity to meet a few people and see the campus, but I don't think you're really MISSING OUT on a lot if you don't go. So you'll just get to know people and the campus once school starts. There's also a make-up CalSO during Welcome Week.
