I've been wondering if the FPF Calso (July 14-15) is worth going to? I've heard that one of the main reasons for attending the regular admit Calsos is to sign up for classes; since fall extension people already sign up beforehand, is there any other strong reason to go to Calso? The only appealing reason that stands out to me right now is to go for the whole "breaking into a new atmosphere" and making friends thing, but won't one be able to do that anyway during Welcome Week and eventually when classes start?

I haven't anyone to ask since most of the Berkeley people I know got in regular admit, and Calso for them seems indispensible because of choosing classes and such.

I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone here could share experiences from going to the FPF Calso, or just your opinions in concerning the subject!

Except we don't have the second one. Mmm...some stuff looks promising. Sounded like fun. I couldn't decide for the longest time but thought, what the heck. I would say go for it unless money is an issue or you have to do something on that date. I really have nothing better to do, and I found out that due to my financial situation I only have to pay $100. :)

FPF CalSO was a blast- the only CalSO that gets an organized dance. Most of the time you will be making friends with other students, many of them will be in your FPF classes. With this said, on the first day of class you will be seeing a few familar faces in every class (at least I did).

You also get your official student ID. You will find yourself waiting in line for 2 hours if you choose to get it during welcome week (and you will need your card the first week to eat the the dc, though with all the free food during welcome week you can just survive off that if you wanted to).

It's not on the site, or the last time I looked at it anyway, nor is it on the e-mailed itinerary. Maybe they want to "surprise" us? I mean, I already gave word out to a Facebook FPF Calso group.

its a student who was admitted to the spring semester instead of the fall semester and who chose to attend the Fall Extension program at Berkeley Extension. After fall semester, that studetn will be an "actual" Cal student

GoldenBear10, that's the outgoing high school student centric view. Now for the actual definition--it's any student who enrolls in UC Berkeley Extension:
