Am I on a good Haas track? And should I prepare for Econ just in case???

I'm a spring admit freshman, Ill be applying to Haas next year. Ive got all my Breadth done except for one through community college mostly and one at Cal. This semester I was involved on a student group on campus where I will be the co-treasurer for next semester. This summer I'll be working with a high school summer program on campus as an office assistant, it's not very impressive but pays very well. Should I have gotten an impressive internship instead, or will the job be fine. The job will be 2 months during the summer by the way. In case I don't get into Haas should I prepare for Econ by taking Econ 100 and a another math class? I don't want to risk my GPA by taking hard classes and therefore hurt my chances for Haas. Seems counterproductive to take hard classes when I want a good GPA. And since I've taken math 16b already and would need a year of math for Econ can I take math 16a, even though I took 16b first? Here are my grades for this semester:

Math 16B: A-
Spanish seminar: A
Spanish Seminar: A
Rhetoric R1A: B
ESPM C11: Predicting at least a B-

Next semester I'll be taking:

UGBA 10
Econ 1
Theater 10
Literature Req
Elective/Ethnic Studies class

Also, do you guys have any suggestions for easy A classes that won't be too hard to have next semester as easy GPA boosters?

I think after you’ve taken math 16b you don’t need to take 16a (someone correct me if I’m wrong) so you should be done with the math requirement for Econ.

I would recommend doing the Econ prereqs if you really do want it as your backup major/are really interested in it. Otherwise, just pick another major to fulfill prereqs for. It is always recommended for pre-Haas majors to have a backup major.

it really depends on how you do in econ and ugba and maybe stats… so its difficult to say right now

I think you can only test out IF you used like an AP/IB score for Math 16A.

i’m a transfer student and took a class that articulated to math1B which automatically cleared math1A for me despite not being able to test out of it, which i was able to do at the jc in order to take the math1B equivalent course

oh okay. I’ve always been told to start at Math 1A so I wouldn’t have to take Math 53/43 if I started with Math 1B.
