Am I screwed? Messed up on my college app...

I applied to Penn State Main Campus (rolling admissions) as a safety school. I just got word today that I was accepted (yay!) but upon further reading of the letter found that I was accepted to the SUMMER 2007 session. I thought I signed up for the FALL 2007 session??

I quickly went online to check my application and it clearly says I applied for the SUMMER 2007 session. I knew when I applied that it would be impossible for me to do summer session, so I applied to the fall session (or so I thought...) I have NO idea how this mix-up occurred. I double checked and triple checked all the applications I sent out, so I have NO idea how I could have so easily skipped over something like this.

And now I am really nervous.

Is there any way I can get pushed back into the FALL 2007 session? Or am I screwed? (since it is rolling admission, will I have to re-apply and then risk not getting in again?) Is there any way of getting around this? I know this is my safety school and I shouldn't worry, but AHHHH!!!

That's what you get for using it as a safety ;)

call them and try to contact their administration department

CALL THEM
stop sitting around here complaining and wondering, we cant do anything, but instead, while you're on here, spots are filling!!

I want to call them right now, but figured the admissions office wouldnt be open at 10:15 at night??

Im going to call first thing in the morning.

I cant believe I was so STUPID!!!!

Oh, jeez, I'm sure you're ok, though! This is a big deal, and they might need to review your application again, but if it was a safety school I am sure you are probably still in and they would /love/ to have you. Also, you calling and even wanting to correct this shows you have some interest in attending, so that could even work in your favor a bit...even though they probably think you're a ditz, now ;). I really wouldn't worry too much. A safety is a safety and it's still early. If you are in-state, you're pretty much guarunteed admission if you've got decent grades. Heck, I know a kid from Maryland who wrote "I will never go to Penn State" in his essay, and he got accepted! I think this is the least of the stupid things you could do.

I swear Im not a ditz!! ;)

I am calling first thing in the AM to explain the situation. I am just praying that everything will get worked out. I am in state, am well above all their stats, and have alums in the family, so I really hope they will still accept me to the fall semester.

I STILL cant believe I did something this stupid...

Thanks for the support guys!
