Am I stupid?

Okay guys heres the deal some of you probably know already that I got a terrible score on my SAT, (480 - CR, 530 - Math, 450 - Writing). This is my second time taking it and my first time was similar (I am a junior). The problem is I thought the SAT was kind of easy yet my score clearly shows that I am just stupid. Write now I need a 1150-1300 to get into the schools I want (Based on Math and CR.) I bought the Cracking the SAT 2011 Edition Princeton Review book and plan on studying it from now until September 30, my question is after all this studying will I probably be able to pull of a score between 1150-1300 or am I stuck with the score I got the first 2 times (People say you cant study for the SAT after the second time thats basically what you will get). The first time I didn't study at all for the SAT and the second time I barely studied, any feedback will be appreciated!

You can absolutely study for the SAT. SAT scores don’t accurately show how stupid or how smart you are, just how well you can take the test. I guarantee that if you really study up for the 3rd try and put effort into it, you’ll get a higher score than the first two times when you didn’t study.

Take all the practice tests you can, and don’t just go back and grade them – understand where you went wrong. You’ll notice your scores improve.

The only thing that was stupid was not studying. Your scores don’t mean anything, and you could potentially be able to bring up your score, obviously not 1600, but a good score. Set a goal for yourself and just study really hard. Practice, practice, practice.

My math was 510 the first time I took it. After I studied it with PR and Kap, the second time was 530. and the third time was 800. You can definitely study it.

That’s a nice jump there easiermath, ha. From 530 to 800, sounds like a dream come true.

Several of my friends also had similar jumps either from the first to second or second to third test. It is not that difficult.

The math section isn’t very difficult to begin with, so I’m not surprised.

Wait a second.
480 + 530 + 450 = 1460.
You said you need 1150 - 1300 for the colleges you’re looking at.
Problem solved.

I don’t know what colleges need a 1150-1300/2400

guys, he meant 1150-1300/1600 (CR and math)

Thanks JalliDalli for clarifying, I did indeed mean 1150-1300/1600

Went from a 1980 on a practice test to a 2270 on the real deal with that book and CB blue book. Anything is possible you just have to study hard!
