Hey everyone....not that im the best student in here or anything....but i wonder if my 3.67 GPA is too good for CSU's? I see a lot of threads in here with people applying with like 2.5< Gpa....which kind of deters me wanting to go to school with "slackers"

I havent applied to any UC's because they dont have the major I want to do which is finance....Though I know the Haas school is too good for me and has great ops.

good news about finance, major doesn’t matter much

what matters (roughly in order)

School
GPA
Internships.
major
leadership/demonstrated interest in finance/certifications
other skills(foreign language, programming)

go to a UC, major in economics or accounting or something similar, become president of the finance association(or a VP, just something up there) and kick ass and take names.

good majors(and minors) for finance(roughly in order): finance, accounting, math/economics, economics and accounting(UCSB), quantitative economics(UCI), operations research or similar(management science at UCSD, managerial economics at UCD, Industrial Engineering and Operations Research/operations research and management science at UCB) business economics, economics, math, statistics, engineering(any), computer science, physics

3.3GPA is like the bare min, 3.5 is standard, much over 3.5 won’t benefit you much.

thanks xelink…but how good are the recruits for UC’s?
I just figured…that since I love finance, id rather study finance…and enjoy it rather than study something else for the name of “UC”…
