For UCLA, or UCI
am i too late to start working on extra curricular activities now? as a coming fall applicant?
i didn't join any clubs or volunteer after i graduated high school. just worked part time :(
oh by the way. if i transfer i would apply as sociology major.

You mean you’re applying for Fall '12? If that’s what you mean, then it’s not too late at ALL!! Otherwise, yes… because you’ve already applied.
So, I assume you mean for Fall '12.
I didn’t start any of my more impressive EC’s until about that time (1 1/2 semesters before applying), and I’m pretty sure that those were the ones that they liked, and that got me my acceptance notice today (technically yesterday)!
It’s definitely not too late to start working on that stuff, but it will be too late if you wait much longer. Do something over the summer. Apply for a tutoring position at your college. Do whatever. But it’s definitely not too late yet.

thanks! may i ask what ur major is? and ur stats? (if it’s okay with u)

ECs: tutored for calculus-based physics and general chemistry at my CCC. Plus, I have my own private tutoring “business” (I just advertise on craigslist and go to people’s houses) with about 10 clients. Worked for the Census Bureau while I was in school. Not much volunteer work, aside from some free tutoring (just so I could list something).

I think my essays were good, but everyone says that.

I really think that they looked favorably upon the fact that I was a tutor at my junior college. At my school, that job was very easy to get; as long as you got an “A” in a course, you could approach the professor and ask them if they would have you tutor for their course the next semester. I think that most CCCs offer similar programs.

what’s your major?
